Where appropriate, Debt Collection Solutions can negotiate and manage structured repayment arrangements. This can provide a practical pathway towards recovering money while avoiding unnecessary escalation.
The ACCC debt collection guidance expressly recognises arranging repayment, suggesting payment plans and reviewing existing plans as reasonable purposes for debtor contact. Arrangements are documented, monitored and escalated if instalments stop.
A plan is put in writing: the total, the instalment, the due dates and what happens if a payment is missed. We then watch those dates. A missed instalment is raised with the debtor and reported to you, rather than left to slide into the next month. If the debtor’s position means a plan would not hold, we say so and we go back to seeking the balance.
